Dang it! I was hoping we would go from fall directly into spring. Last weekend was 68 degrees. This is what we got this morning - with promises of up to 8 inches. Tell me again why I live in MN....
Time to take down the hummingbird feeder!

Dan's Coyote
Dan shot a coyote today and now the score is tied, Dave 1 and Dan 1. If I make this a competition, I am guaranteed to eliminate a bunch of those *&@#$%^!. Dan was deer hunting and took a short break to stop this coyote in his tracks. The yote had a nice coat and was a nice size. One less coyote to eat the chickens. Thanks Dan!

Sid 1, Coyotes 0
That's the score today! In the long run, however, the yotes are ahead. Dave took his new gun and caller out to the meadow. A mere 30 minutes later he was done.
High water in Northfield
We got lots of rain in the last week and the Cannon River is overflowing in southern MN. On Friday, Dave, Jack and I took a field trip downtown to check it out. All the bridges into Northfield have been closed. The river is projected to crest today. There has been lots of damage. One of the pictures shows Froggy Bottoms Pub - Mom, Dad, Luke, Dave and I ate there last September. Sandbags had been placed 2 feet high on the patio railing. The water came over the top and there is 7 feet of water in the restaurant. Another picture is the softball fields - home of Slugger Sid - under water.
Parker's 2nd Birthday
Parker turned 2 on September 13th. There was a terrific Shrek-themed party at her house. Kent, Karen, Sam, Eric, Julia, Sue, Ryan, Megan, Dave and I joined in the fun. The cake (made by Nicole) was awesome. Parker and the rest of us had a great time!

Sorry it's been awhile...
Spring/summer and fall/winter is hectic around here. So much to do. The garden is half planted. Pumpkins (7 varieties!), corn and some herbs are all that's left to go. Tomatoes, peppers (32 plants!), cucumbers, cantaloupe, watermelon and potatoes are in. Raspberries and horseradish look good. Basil is growing - I can't wait for homemade pesto fettucine.
The grandkids are adorable. When we win the lottery we will buy the house next door (it's for sale) and ask them to move in. :-)
Baby chicks (Welsumers) are a month old. They are fun to watch.
We are looking forward to our annual 4th of July party at the lake - everyone is welcome to join us!
Enjoy the pictures!
